The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained Bonvincini (Myboycharlie-Orvieto, by Testa Rossa) added to Vinery Stud's recent spate of black-type success on Saturday when she drew 2-lengths clear to decisively claim last Saturday's Listed Morphettville Guineas in Adelaide. Retained (fortuitously) by Vinery Stud partner Greg Perry despite being drafted for the 2018 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale, the filly impressed jockey Jake Toeroek in what was just her third start; "She hit the front at the furlong and then pricked her ears," Toeroek told Vinery Stud representatives. "There was a lot left in the tank. She was really strong late and it was an impressive effort over 1600m. They said she was a nice horse and she proved that right!" Bonvicini was broken in at Vinery Stud in the same crop as boom colt Exceedance (Exceed and Excel-Bonnie Mac, by Thorn Park) who recorded a same-length victory in the Gr3 San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill a fortnight ago – making it the Vinery breaker's second Stakes winner in as many weeks from that group.
