Oliver To Ride Mustajeer in Caulfield Cup

Thursday, 12th September 2019

Australian Bloodstock's quality stayer Mustajeer (Medicean-Qelaan, by Dynaformer), one of five horses sharing favouritism for the Gr1 Caulfield Cup, will have the services of champion jockey Damien Oliver for October’s prestigious Melbourne Racing Club 2400m event. According to AAP, the recent winner of a tenth Scobie Breasley Award is chasing a fifth victory in the race. Mustajeer, trained by Kris Lees, is due to enter quarantine soon ahead of his trip to Australia where he is also favourite for the Gr1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) after a statement-making triumph in York’s Ebor Handicap that earned connections a £1 million bonus.
