Ten Sovereigns Everest Claim Depends on Haydock

Thursday, 5th September 2019

Current favourite for the UK's Gr1 Haydock Sprint on Saturday, 3YO colt Ten Sovereigns (No Nay Never-Seeking Solace, by Exceed and Excel) will head into quarantine next week for the TAB Everest if he runs up to expectations. Several sources on Twitter outlined the suggestion that Aidan O'Brien's sprinter might fill the currently vacant Coolmore owned slot for the $14million race. Coolmore also own young sprinter Yes Yes Yes (Rubick-Sin Sin Sin, by Fantastic Light). Ten Sovereigns won all his three starts at two, including the Gr1 Middle Park Stakes, and followed up with victory in the Gr1 July Cup over 1200m at his third 3YO start. The colt only managed sixth behind Battaash in the Gr1 Nunthorpe Stakes last start, putting his claims on the Everest slot on hold until after the Gr1 Haydock Sprint this coming weekend.
