Baker-Forsman Focussing On Victorian Team

Thursday, 5th September 2019

New Zealand trainers Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman began their Australian spring in the best possible fashion when Quick Thinker (So You Think-Acouplamas, by Al Maher) won the Gr3 Ming Dynasty Quality at Rosehill last Saturday, and now their attention turns to Victoria, reports racingnews.co.nz. "We have got three in Melbourne that flew over on Sunday morning," Baker said. "Long Jack races at Ballarat on Friday in a 1400m maiden and will be ridden by Damian Lane. He is a nice 3YO that we think might stay a bit. He is out of a Monsun mare and Monsun was a great sire in Germany and a staying influence that has left a few Melbourne Cup winners." Long Jack (So You Think-Extravaganza, by Monsun) has had just the two starts, second in a maiden 2YO and second in a Listed race. The training partnership also has dual Gr1 winner Madison County (Pins-Red Delicious, by No Excuse Needed) in Melbourne who will trial soon, and The Chosen One (Savabeel-The Glitzy One, by Flying Spur) who is a runner in the Gr2 Feehan Stakes over a mile at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
