Zoustyle Rider Under The Whip with Stewards

Monday, 2nd September 2019

Queensland jockey Brad Stewart is beginning to earn the ire of Stewards who have suspended him for seven days following an eleventh separate whip suspension in just eight months. According to AAP, Stewart’s latest suspension was as a result of using the whip 14 times before the 100m mark aboard Boom County at Ipswich on Friday. The regular rider of undefeated galloper Zoustyle (Zoustar) will start his suspension following next Saturday’s Concorde Stakes in Sydney where he will ride the Tony Gollan-trained rising star. The untapped son of Widden Stud stallion Zoustar has appeared streets ahead of anything else in a recent jump-out and in a trial at Doomben a month back where he ran sensational time. He will be stabled at Randwick from Wednesday ahead of what promises to be an enthralling renewal of the Concorde which also boasts several The Everest candidates kicking off their campaigns. Although delighted that Stewart will retain the ride, Gollan suggested the jockey needs to take stock after his latest transgression.
