Late September Pivotal For Super Seth

Monday, 2nd September 2019

September 29 is the day that will determine what course of action is plotted by trainer Anthony Freedman for exciting 3YO colt Super Seth (Dundeel-Salutations, by Redoute’s Choice) after the progressive sophomore claimed Saturday’s Gr3 H.D.F. McNeill Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield. Allowed to settle mid-field after jumping well, jockey Mark Zahra had his hands as still as a winter’s night on Super Seth’s whither before working him strongly into the race to look the clear winner 100m from home. At the back end of the month Freedman will provide Super Seth with the opportunity to determine whether the 1400m of the Caulfield Guineas is a bridge too far distance wise, or whether he’s ready to proceed to the mile of the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas. If the answer is no, then Freedman has the luxury of dropping back to 1200m in the Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington instead. To ensure Super Seth has experience down the straight six Freedman intends to enter the son of Dundeel for mid September’s Danehill Stakes (1200m) on Gr1 Makybe Diva Stakes day.
