Clarence River Carnival Off and Running

Monday, 1st July 2019

The popular annual Grafton Racing Carnival got underway on Sunday in Northern NSW, with Arlington (Tamalee Farm) and Pluck (Vinery Stud) siring the winners of the opening day’s features. Winner of the John Carlton Cup (1206m), $3.80 favourite Malea Magic (Arlington), was icing on the cake for her sire whose only two other runners on the day finished first and second at Dubbo in the same event.  Meanwhile, Vinery stallion Pluck added to a strong weekend for the stud farm when Happy Go Plucky triumphed in the Grafton Cup Prelude (2200m). On Saturday, Vinery’s highly consistent stallion Casino Prince was represented by exciting 3YO filly Bacarrat Baby who comfortably won the Gr3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (see below report).
