The Old Firm Back In Business

Friday, 17th May 2019

Overnight, Sydney’s Daily Telegraph flagged a new mini partnership by industry influencers John Singleton and Gerry Harvey, reporting they will celebrate their enduring 50-year friendship “by sharing in the ownership of boom filly Libertini and emerging mare Girl Tuesday. The report states that while Singleton acknowledge paperwork for the change in ownership for both horses had been signed and was going through due process by officialdom, it’s possible Gerry Harvey “may not be fully aware of the deal”. Matters could get off to a positive start on Saturday when the Singleton-bred Girl Tuesday run in the Listed Lord Mayor’s Cup (2000m) at Rosehill for which the blue-blood is an $8.50 chance after winning a BM88 at Randwick over 1800m. Waiting in the wings for the duo is the prodigiously talented 2YO Libertini, for whom the Spring appears to be her oyster in the 3YO filly division and, potentially, a lucrative race like The Golden Eagle.
