Form On The Board For Accession In Ken Russell

Friday, 3rd May 2019

Used in the past as a solid pointer towards further Brisbane Winter carnival success, the Gr.3 Ken Russell Memorial (1200m) sees the Queensland debut of the Chris Waller-trained Accession, the first stakes winner for Darley's Brazen Beau. The Star Thoroughbred-syndicated colt was second on debut before winning his next two, highlighted by his victory in $500,000 Restricted Listed Inglis Nursery (1000m). Followed by encouraging efforts behind exciting colts Castelvecchio (Dundeel) and Microphone (Exceed And Excel) at his next two starts, with both winners going on to claim Gr.1 success during the recently completed Sydney Autumn carnival, Accession has been readied for Saturday's race with a recent barrier trial victory over 897m at Canterbury. A $300,000 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale graduate from the draft of Widden Stud, Accession is the first winner from the More Than Ready mare Ready As Elle, a five-time-winning half-sister to Champion Singapore Sprinter Emperor Max (Holy Roman Emperor).
