Almost 90% Clearance Rate At Melbourne Gold Sale
The strength and depth of the buying bench for the 2019 Inglis Melbourne Gold Sale was realised with a clearance rate of 87%, with further private purchases likely to be completed. Inglis’ Victorian Bloodstock Manger Simon Vivian was thrilled with the results of the sale. “The level of interest and participation in the sale has been strong which is really pleasing,” Vivian said. “We had significant number of individual buyers including a great cross section of Victorian and interstate trainers. A lot of the top Victorian trainers were active at today’s sale; Lindsay Park, Maher/Eustace, Mick Price and Mike Moroney just to name a few. Vivian added: “Further, there has been strong international interest in the sale as well with active buyers from Singapore, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Macau. With the VOBIS Gold Raceday yesterday and the success of today’s sale, it really goes to show the exceptional shape of the Victorian breeding industry. All the yearlings sold on Sunday are eligible to be nominated for the $8m Inglis race series. Meanwhile, Inglis’ next auction is the Australian Broodmare & Weanling sale, which begins with Weanlings going through at Riverside Stables on Thursday, May 2.
