Down Under Hoops Get Sha Tin Chance To Shine
Next weekend's Champions Day racemeeting in Hong Kong provides several key Australian-based jockeys a chance to shine on a world stage. With Winx's rider Hugh Bowman already confirmed to ride recent Anthony Freedman-trained Gr1 TJ Smith hero Santa Ana Lane in the Gr1 Chairman's Sprint Prize, Gr1 winner Viddora, who ran admirably in Dubai for trainer Lloyd Kennewell, will also contest the dash, with regular rider Joe Bowditch in the irons. In the Gr1 QE II Cup, Bowman features as the pilot for exciting Furore, but aside from facing off against Hong Kong's top hoops, including Champion Zac Purton, he'll also have to contend with the skilfull Sydney-based jockeys Tim Clark and James McDonald. The other major Gr1 on the day is the Gr1 Champions Mile where Australian expat Purton will attempt to make in 9 wins in a row aboard superstar miler Beauty Generation.
