Arrowfield Redoute's Filly Fetches $1 Million
Respected New Zealand bloodstock agent Dean Hawthorne had the final say at $1 million on arguably the most perfectly pedigreed filly at the opening session of the 2019 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. Covered a week ago in this column, Lot 100 contains a stunning 3 x 3 Rasmussen cross of Danehill-Shantha’s Choice full-siblings Redoute’s Choice and Monsoon Wedding. By Snitzel out of Black Opal Stakes winner Lucky Racquie, the filly has the potential to be anything on both the track and in the breeding barn where she epitomises the idea of a future foundation mare. Her future career will be closely followed, particularly at stud where, theory has it, she might be genetically super-charged as a producer. Adding fuel to the fire, Lucky Racquie’s Gr3-winning full-sister Precious Lorraine is the dam of an identically-bred 2YO Snitzel daughter called Meuse, a very exciting Anthony Freedman-trained filly who is two for two, and headed for stakes class.
