In Saturday’s last of 10 races at Royal Randwick, Darley shuttler Medaglia D'Oro (El Prado-Cappucino Bay, by Bailjumper) ended the day for Godolphin the way they’d started in the first, with a withering 0.2-length winning finish by 3YO filly Multaja (Medaglia D'Oro-Shelters, by Lonhro) for trainer James Cummings in the Gr3 PJ Bell Stakes (1200m) for sophomore fillies. Just getting home in the nick of time after there were 11 runners within two-lengths of the leader 100m from the post, Multaja defeated fellow fillies Into The Abyss and So Taken. At her fifth attempt in stakes company, the Godolphin filly now has 4 wins and a placing from 9 starts for $289,900 in earnings.
