Millennium Duo Renew Rivalry in Skyline Stakes
Remaining unbeaten when winning the $2 million Inglis Millennium at Warwick Farm, the Richard Litt-trained Castelvecchio, a 2YO son of Arrowfield Stud's Dundeel takes on the runner-up of that race, the Chris Waller-trained Accession (Brazen Beau) in Saturday's G2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick. Coming from last in the field of fourteen runners as the home bend was reached, Castelvecchio charged past his rivals to win the race by 2-lengths. Accession, who had won two of his previous three starts, settled handy in the run, and looked the winner before jockey Josh Parr unleashed Litt's Warwick Farm-trained colt down the outside to take the win. With only eight having accepted for the Skyline, it is by no means a race in two with the James Cummings' pair of last start winning Exceed And Excel colts Microphone and Bivouac more than capable of continuing the outstanding run that Godolphin are currently experiencing with their juveniles. Peter and Paul Snowden will also saddle up a pair of colts, including $1,050,000 million yearling Rome (Pierro) winner of a recent trial, while Deep Field's Cosmic Force finished a length second to Bivouac, with last Saturday's Gr2 Silver Slipper winner Time To Reign (Time For War) having finished fourth that day in what should prove a great form reference.
