No Long Noses About Randwick Debut 3YO Winner
Ahead of yesterday’s second event at Randwick in Sydney, there were plenty of spruiks about the chances of a Les Bridge debutant, and they were right on the money. An eye-catching Hawkesbury trial winner, 3YO gelding Classique Legend (Not A Single Doubt-Pinocchio, by Encosta de Lago) cleared out to win by 2.5-lengths as the $2.50 favourite. Out of a full-sister to 5-time Gr1 winner Racing To Win and half-sister to Gr3 winner Purrealist, Classique Legend was purchased by agent Carmel Size for $400,000 at the 2017 Inglis Classic Sale from the draft of Tyreel Stud. Managed by Size for Hong Kong owner Boniface Ho, Classique Legend is expected to be sent to Hong Kong at some point, however AAP reports the intentions are to set the exciting prospect for a tilt at some of the autumn’s feature races. Kerrin McEvoy enthused, "He is a nice big horse who can stretch over a bit further. It was good to see him do that today. He is heading in the right direction and it's exciting to see where he might end up."
