Invincible Spirit 2YOs On Song In Europe

Tuesday, 30th October 2018

While Yarraman Park Stud’s I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit-Cannarelle, by Canny Lad) goes from strength to strength in Australia and New Zealand, his own sire Invincible Spirit continues to prove himself one of Europe’s finest stallions. That point was underlined yet again last weekend with a brace of Gr1 wins by his 2YOs – Godolphin-owned colt, Royal Meeting, in France’s Gr1 Criterium International at Chantilly (see below), and another colt, Magna Grecia, in the UK’s Vertem Futurity (Racing Post Trophy) at Doncaster. The latter is owned by Moonee Valley chairman Bob Scarborough. Meanwhile, in Australia, there is plenty to look forward to from the sireline with a number of other high quality Invincible Spirit sons and grandsons (by I Am Invincible who stands for $192,500)) either already showing substantial promise with their first runners or yet to have runners. The list, according to arion.co.nz, includes:

  • Brazen Beau (Darley Stud, VIC) $38,500
  • Cable Bay (Woodside Park Stud) $13,200
  • Hellbent (Yarraman Park Stud) $27,500
  • Kobayashi (Aquis Farm) $4,400
  • Overshare (Spendthrift Australia) $11,000
  • Shalaa (Arrowfield Stud) $33,000
  • Super One (Newgate Farm) $11,000
  • Territories (Darley Stud, NSW) $16,500
  • Zebedee (Cornerstone Stud) $14,300
