Tuesday, 9th October 2018

Owners the Kelly family of Newhaven Park have announced that top sprinting mare English (Encosta de Lago-Court, by Anabaa) has been retired from racing. The 6YO Australian-bred mare retires with 6 wins and 5 placings from 27 starts for $3,480,071 in earnings. Trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, English bows out as a two-time Group 1 winner of the 2015 All Aged Stakes at Randwick (where she defeated Black Heart Bart & Kermadec) and the 2018 Doomben 10,000 in Brisbane (defeating Impending & Le Romain). Newhaven Park announced that English will commence the next stage of her career immediately by visiting high-profile stallion I Am Invincible.
