Le Romain Secures Everest Start

Wednesday, 3rd October 2018

The Kris Lees-trained Le Romain has received a late call-up for Saturday week's Everest. The triple Gr1 winner has been secured by Greg Ingham's GPI Racing after the slot-holder was forced to release Invincible Star due to lameness issues. "It’s an unfortunate situation with Invincible Star but that was out of our control and has forced our hand to find an alternative," GPI Racing spokesman Andrew Williams told racenet. "What Le Romain brings to the table is a proven tough weight-for-age performer that goes on all types of ground and has an outstanding record at Randwick. Greg is sure the horse will do our slot proud." There are still two slots available in the Everest - Damion Flower's Jadeskye Racing and the Australian Turf Club.
