Jungle Cat Australia Bound

Monday, 13th August 2018

Top Godolphin sprinter Jungle Cat will enter quarantine later this month before travelling to Australia to run in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield. The 6YO Irish-bred entire hasn't raced since claiming the biggest win of his career in the Gr1 Al Quoz Sprint (1200m) at Meydan on Dubai World Cup night in March. "He is going to head out to Australia in the first shipment of horses and will go into quarantine later this month," trainer Charlie Appleby said. "He will go for a seven-furlong race out there called the Sir Rupert Clarke." Appleby added: "As he is getting older, seven furlongs is more his trip. I don't think he would have the legs for those young Australian sprinters in the Everest. This has been the long-term plan for him."
