Pleasing Trials Across The Board At Rosehill

Wednesday, 8th August 2018

With the exception of Chautauqua who refused to jump yet again in a trial (see earlier items), some of Sydney’s track stars strutted their stuff at Rosehill Gardens yesterday. Kicking off proceedings, albeit slightly delayed, Alizee was the consumate professional when holding Ace High, Winx and D’Argento at bay, with Winx in cruise control for regular pilot Hugh Bowman. The large contingent of onlookers and media might have had their eyes on the big grey in Trial 6, but it was The Everest favourite Trapeze Artist who gave his connections plenty of encouragement when cuddled to the line to be beaten less than a length. In Trial Jump and run Golden Slipper winner Estijaab did what was required and was switched off 200m from home, with all three former smart juveniles in Performer, Fiesta and Legend of Condor putting in excellent trials. The Chris Waller-trained Bubbles’n’Troubles also ran on strongly from behind with a fluid action to just pip Estijaab, and she appears to be a quality type for the stable.
