Cracksman Plans On Hold

Monday, 30th July 2018

John Gosden has put future plans for Cracksman on hold following his late withdrawal from Saturday's King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on account of the firm ground. However, the Newmarket handler did indicate that the Gr1 Juddmonte International Stakes (10 furlongs) at York on 22 August was a potential next target. "The horse is in great form, but I don't want to put him back on this type of ground (fast) again. He didn't appreciate it at the Royal meeting and it's a little bit stupid to try our luck again," Gosden told Sky Sports. "There is plenty of nice racing to come and we are only halfway through the season...If we had the rain Newmarket and York had we would be in business."
