Catchy Chasing Everest Slot

Wednesday, 25th July 2018

Meanwhile, co-trainer David Hayes has urged Everest slot-holders not to forget about Group 1-winning filly Catchy (Fastnet Rock-Cats Whisker, by Fusaichi Pegasus) when it comes time to choose a horse to represent them in the world's richest turf race. The rising 3YO is a proven top-flight sprinter, having won the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) as a juvenile and been placed in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) and Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) in her 3YO season. "I think Catchy is a prospective Everest horse this year as well," Hayes told Sky Sports Radio. "I'm hoping that she will put her hand up to." Hayes added: "She will be running in a sprint about five weeks before The Everest and she is a Randwick 1200 metre Group winner over the carnival, so I can't see why, if she ran well, she wouldn't be a genuine chance."
