Milanova Daughter Fetches 300K Guineas
A daughter of beautifully bred Australian mare Milanova (Danehill-L'On Vite, by Secretariat) sold for 300,000 guineas at the Tattersalls July Sale overnight. The unnamed yearling Galileo filly, who is a full sister to Gr3 Munster Oaks winner Pretty Perfect, was knocked down to German agent and consignor Ronald Rauscher. Milanova, a Gr3 winner and Gr1 placegetter in Australia who is a sister to Aquis Farm's Gr1-winning stallion Holy Roman Emperor, is a direct descendant of influential blue hen Fanfreluche, ancestress of former champion Australian sires Flying Spur and Encosta de Lago. "She is for a European-based owner. She is a lovely filly – she handled well this morning and vetted well, and she is just a May foal," said Rauscher. "It is a great family, and one I know well from my time spent at Windfields - there are lots of top performers in the family who have not made it onto the page such as Night Shift and Encosta Del Lago."
