Hiflyer Settled in Sydney

Thursday, 12th July 2018

Trainer Peter Lock is looking forward to smart Kiwi galloper Hiflyer making his Australian debut in Saturday's Listed Winter Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill, reports NZ Racing Desk. "Hiflyer did a couple of nice rounds of the track and he pulled up really well and looks nice and bright," said Lock. The Group 1-placed son of Tavistock has drawn the inside gate and will carry top-weight of 59.5kg under regular rider Jonathan Parkes. "Johnathan arrives on Friday afternoon and he knows the horse better than anyone and we will work out what happens in terms of rider after Saturday. There is another Listed race worth $150,000 over 1500m at Rosehill in a fortnight, and that looks a possible target." Bred and part-owned by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan, Hiflyer is by Tavistock out of the Stravinsky mare Lady Firebird and hails from the outstanding female family of champion Australian racehorse Might And Power and 4-time Gr1 winning filly Mosheen.
