Mikki Isle Foals Popular at JRHA Sale
Four foals from the first Japanese crop of Champion Sprinter & Miler Mikki Isle averaged ¥29.5 million (A$357,000) at The Foal Session of this week’s JRHA Select Sale, a handsome return of around 20 times his fee in Japan. His top price of ¥34 million (A$410,000) was paid by Mizuki Noda for Western Farm’s colt out of Atoani (by King’s Best), a half-sister to Irish Oaks winner Winona. Mikki Isle’s only filly at the Sale, out of multiple US Grade 1 winner Island Fashion (by Seeking the Gold’s son Petionville), was offered by Northern Farm and bought by Tsuyoshi Ono for ¥31 million (A$375,000). Mikki Isle’s first Australian crop arrives this Spring and will include foals out of mares by Anabaa, Commands, Encosta De Lago, Exceed and Excel, Fastnet Rock, Flying Spur, High Chaparral, More Than Ready, Octagonal, Redoute’s Choice, Snitzel, Stravinsky and Zabeel. Mikki Isle (Deep Impact) will stand at Arrowfield Stud this spring at a fee of $13,750 (inc. GST).
