Jukebox To Make Gr1 Noise

Monday, 9th July 2018

Ciaron Maher expects dual highly talented Melbourne colt Jukebox (Snitzel-Jestajune, by Rory's Jester) to make his mark in Group 1 company in the spring. Not sighted since finishing well beaten in the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington in November, Jukebox will open his spring campaign in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday. Soundness issues have restricted Jukebox to just six starts, but his class has been made obvious with three victories including the Gr2 Danehill Stakes and Gr3 Vain Stakes last spring. "He had a jump-out on Tuesday at Caulfield on the course proper and went very well," Maher told racing.com. "He'll have another gallop on Tuesday morning but at this stage he's shaping up pretty well. He's furnished and seems good and sound because he had a bit of surgery on a joint." Maher added: "He'll run in the Monash and the Bletchingly and then hopefully we're re-setting our sights on a Group 1."
