Viddora Begins Spring Build-Up

Thursday, 5th July 2018

Trainer Lloyd Kennewell has provided an update on the progress of high-class sprinting mare Viddora. Viddora (I Am Invincible-Snow Flight, by Colombia) established herself among the best sprinters in the country last year when landing the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes in Perth in December and the $1 million Magic Millions Snippets on the Gold Coast in January. However, things went awry when the 5YO finished a most disappointing 13th of 20 in the Group 1 Goodwood (1200m) in Adelaide in May. Kennewell said tests were conducted to assess Viddora's health, and indicated had she not received the all-clear she may have been offered for sale at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale. "There was nothing found when she was scanned. We just wanted to do a bone scan to get some clarity for the owners. Because it was that time of year when you either sell those broodmares that are very valuable, or keep racing for another twelve months," Kennewell told Sky Sports Radio. "We are very comfortable that there is nothing wrong with the horse and that she just had an off prep."
