Everest Target for Viddora

Thursday, 5th July 2018

Meanwhile, trainer Lloyd Kennewell says Gr1 winning sprinter Viddora will open her spring campaign in the Group 1 Moir Stakes (1000m) at Moonee Valley on Friday, 29 September with a view to securing a slot in The Everest. "She started her pre-training in Melbourne on Monday. She's a very no-fuss type of horse and she did very well during her break," Kennewell told Sky Sports Radio. "We will try an repeat what we did last year. She will resume in the Moir and if she happened to win that she may get a slot in The Everest. If not, we will just push on to the Manikato and then the Winterbottom in Perth, and of course the Gold Coast again in January." He added: "It's going to be difficult. There are a lot of horses in the same boat as Viddora who will be duelling for those [Everest] positions. It's just a matter of letting the horse do the talking. We will just push towards the Moir and if it all unfolds we are happy to head to The Everest."
