Colt From Easy Date Family Stakes Bound

Thursday, 5th July 2018

Co-trainer Adrian Bott believes well-bred 2YO colt Master Ash has the ability to develop into a stakes horse in the spring. Bott made the comments after the son of Sebring opened his account with a strong front-running victory in the Tab Handicap (1250m) at Canterbury Park yesterday. "We'll have a look at what spring goals are on the radar for him and assess the next step," Bott told racenet. "He might be that horse that goes off on a separate path. Races like the Ming Dynasty [Gr3 over 1400m] and Stan Fox [Gr2 over 1500m]." Owned by Mr Muzaffar Yaseen's Teeley Assets, Master Ash was purchased by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott Racing for $170,000 at the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. Master Ash is out of the Gr2 Magic Night Stakes placed mare Hanky Panky, an Encosta de Lago half sister to Arrowfield's multiple stakes-winning stallion Not A Single Doubt. This makes Master Ash a half-sibling to stakes winners Come Hither and Fun In Flight and a direct descendant of influential broodmare Easy Date, ancestress also of Gr1-winning sire Snippets and Golden Slipper winner Forensics.
