Wild Heart Wins Wyong Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes

Friday, 22nd December 2017

Well connected 3YO gelding Wild Heart showed that he had returned from a spell a more mature racehorse when scoring an impressive first-up win in the $100,000 Wyong Magic Millions 3YO & 4YO Stakes (1200m) at Wyong yesterday. Owned by a high profile syndicate that includes Vinery Stud, Neil Werrett & Rupert Legh, Wild Heart signalled he will be hard to beat when he makes his next appearance in the $2 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas on the Gold Coast on 13 January when defeating Single Bullet & Redouble. Tania Rouse, stable representative for Team Hawkes, commented: "He's a horse that races well fresh, the tempo was on early and he finished the race off really well," she said. "Last preparation he kept working through his grades and all his runs were creditable and he's come back really well." Jockey Brenton Avdulla believes the 1400 metres of the Guineas will pose no problem for Wild Heart. "I was confident at the top of the straight that I could run the leader [Single Bullet] down and he went straight past him," he said. "He's still learning and I'm sure 1400 metres will really suit him." By Yarraman Park's Gr3-winning & 4-time Gr1-placed stallion Hinchinbrook (Fastnet Rock), Wild Heart is out of the US-bred mare Wild Entertained (Forestry) and was a $170,000 purchase at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Turangga Farm.
