NZ 3YO Sold to HK

Wednesday, 13th December 2017

Talented New Zealand-bred 3YO Matchbreaker (Makfi-Pineau, by Carnegie) will continue his racing career overseas after being sold to Hong Kong interests, reports NZ Racing Desk. The New Zealand Bloodstock graduate has hitherto won 2 of his 3 starts, highlighted by a last-start win in the Gr3 Lucia Valentina Wellington Stakes (1600m) at Otaki. "It was like a feeding frenzy, they all came calling," trainer Fraser Auret said of the interest shown in the gelding after his maiden stakes win. "We were inundated with interest and he's off to Hong Kong for a very substantial amount of money." Auret added: "He's a beautiful horse and he did a fantastic job for the stable and I'm sure he'll continue to go on with it."
