Smart Colt Back in Work

Tuesday, 12th December 2017

Talented Kiwi colt Aim Smart (Smart Missile-North Sea, by Hussonet) has returned to Tony Pike's Cambridge stable, reports NZ Racing Desk. "We'll be taking him along quietly and then get his confidence up with a win or two on the good tracks hopefully," Pike said. An impressive winner of his only juvenile start, Aim Smart finished runner-up in the Gr3 Northland Breeders' Stakes (1200m) in the spring before a succession of rain-affected tracks cut short his preparation for the Gr1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas (1600m). A $200,000 purchase from the 2016 New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale for 2YOs, Aim Smart is a direct descendant of South Ocean, dam of champion European racehorse Storm Bird.
