Big Blue Tops Inglis Dec Sale

Monday, 11th December 2017

An outstanding draft of racing stock presented by Godolphin resulted in a perfect clearance rate at a successful Inglis December Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands Junction in Melbourne on Friday. The sale topper was the former European stayer Big Blue (Galileo-Board Meeting, by Anabaa) who sold to Maher Bloodstock for $102,000 - one of four horses to reach six figures. Other Lots to realise $100,000 were the geldings Demonstrate and Foundation and the race mare Soiree. Godolphin was one of 20 vendors to enjoy a perfect clearance rate at the mixed sale, ensuring the sale's overall clearance rate was a very pleasing 90%. The December Sale is the very last for Inglis in 2018. The first auction for the new year is the Classic Yearling Sale, the historic first sale at Riverside Stables in Sydney from February 10-13 where 800 yearlings will be offered over four magnificent days of selling. The Classic Sale will be followed by the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale at Oaklands Junction from March 4-7, where 770 yearlings are catalogued. Action then returns to Sydney for the southern hemisphere's biggest yearling sale, the Australian Easter Yearling Sale. The final Easter Yearling Sale catalogue will be available in January.
