Stellar Wind Possible for Pegasus
Meanwhile, US Eclipse Champion Stellar Wind breezed a half-mile in :50 flat at Palm Meadows Training Center on Saturday ahead of a possible start in the US$16 million Gr1 Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfstream Park on 27 January, reports Blood Horse. Coolmore's M.V. Magnier paid US$6 million for the 5YO daughter of Curlin at last month's Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale, later revealing she would be mated with Triple Crown winner American Pharoah. "She is in training with Chad Brown and is under consideration for the Pegasus. The plan is still for her to be bred in the spring," Coolmore's Scott Calder said. Crowned champion 3YO filly of 2015, Stellar Wind has hitherto won 10 of her 16 starts – including six at Group 1 level - for over $2.25 million in earnings.
