Fastnet Rock Filly Fetches 1.7 Million Guineas
Group 1 winning Fastnet Rock filly Intricately was the star attraction on Monday's opening session of the Tattersalls December Mare Sale when selling to John & Jake Warren for 1.7 million guineas. Trained by Joseph O'Brien to win the Gr1 Moyglare Stud Stakes, Intricately is out of the Galileo mare Inner Realm, a half-sister to the seven-time Group 1 winner and successful sire Rock Of Gibraltar. "She was the star of the show," said Jake Warren. "We rated her highly and she is an absolutely beautiful Group 1-winning two-year-old. She also comes from a fantastic female family and we felt she was faultless in every way." He added: "She will be a wonderful foundation broodmare for a client who is getting started with a bloodstock interest and looking to build a band of high class horses. She will be coming to Highclere and will be knocking on a number of doors regarding nominations." The opening day saw a total of 193 lots sell for 15,474,700 guineas, at an average of 80,180 guineas and a median of 36,000 guineas.
