Inglis Graduates Ready to Shine in Banner

Friday, 27th October 2017

Graduates from each of Inglis' three major select yearling sales will be represented in tomorrow's $250,000 Listed (Restricted) Inglis Banner (1000m) at Moonee Valley. In the final field of 11, six runners are from the Classic Yearling Sale, four have come through the Premier Yearling Sale and one - $800,000 Snitzel colt Jawwaal – is out of the Australian Easter Yearling Sale. TAB has installed the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Setsuna (Choisir x Longoria) as the $4 favourite for the race. The filly is one of three runners to have already raced, finishing a close-up second in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes at Randwick on debut a fortnight ago. "We were really happy with her first run. She was only beaten a head that day and she's trained on well since so we're confident she's going to be right around the mark again this weekend," part-owner Scott Darby of Darby Racing said. The Inglis Banner is the first race of the lucrative $6million Inglis Race Series for 2017 graduates.
