Friday, 27th October 2017

The final instalment of the once-in-a-generation Ballymacoll Dispersal, comprising 22 fillies and mares, heads an outstanding catalogue for the Tattersalls December Mares Sale (December 4-7). In total eight of the 14 Ballymacoll broodmares are Group or Listed performers including the champion Islington, in foal to Kingman, Gr2 winner Eleanor Duse, in foal to Frankel, and Gr3 winner Liber Nauticus, in foal to the Aga Khan's Derby winner Harzand. The 2017 renewal of the Tattersalls December Mare Sale combines the best of British and Irish bloodstock with top class consignments from throughout Europe. Dual Gr1-winning sprinters Marsha and Quiet Reflection, as well as Gr1 winners Zhukova and Intricately, are among the more than 60 Group and Listed performed fillies in and out of training catalogued. Moreover, no less than 36 mares are in foal to the current top five stallions in Britain and Ireland, namely Galileo, Dark Angel, Dubawi, Frankel and Kodiac. Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony commented: "The once in a generation Ballymacoll Dispersal adds a unique dimension to this year's Tattersalls December Sale and it is backed up by a catalogue of real distinction including four outstanding Group 1 winning fillies, the highest rated two-year-old filly we have offered at the December Sale this century and a host of beautifully bred, well covered mares." The catalogue can be view at www.tattersalls.com.
