Spendthrift Announces 2018 Stud Fees

Tuesday, 24th October 2017

B. Wayne Hughes' Spendthrift Farm has announced the fees for most of its stallion roster that are set to stand at its Lexington-based farm for the 2018 breeding season. Spendthrift's 24-stallion roster, which includes three new stallions, will be headed by leading sire Into Mischief, whose fee has moved to $100,000 S&N and is booked full. The three new stallions include the recently-retired Gormley, Lord Nelson, and Tom's Ready, who remains in training through the end of the year. Gormley, winner of last year's Gr1 FrontRunner Stakes at Santa Anita at two and this year's $1 million Gr1 Santa Anita Derby at three, retires as Malibu Moon's only Grade 1-winning 2YO at stud. Lord Nelson, the triple Grade 1-winning son of Pulpit, has recovered from a well-documented battle with laminitis that caused him to miss the 2017 breeding season and is ready to stand his first season in 2018. Spendthrift is hosting an open house this week from 1-3pm daily through Thursday. Spendthrift's full stallion roster is:
