Top Colt Ready for Late Reappearance
Talented 3YO Property will make a belated spring return when he resumes in the Gr2 Caulfield Sprint (1000m) in Melbourne tomorrow. The Robert Smerdon prepared Property (Starcraft-Opalize, by Anabaa) stamped himself as one of the better juveniles in training last season, winning the Gr3 Blue Diamond Prelude before rounding out his 2YO campaign with a dashing win in the Gr3 Kindergarten Stakes on day one of The Championships in Sydney. However, the gelding has had his spring comeback delayed due to injury. "He had a long spell because of a tibial stress fracture in a hind leg," Smerdon told racenet. "They heal well and they do well but he needed time and that meant he came on the scene later." Smerdon added: "His trials and jump-outs have been terrific, really good. If he runs well enough, he'll go to the Coolmore but if he doesn't, he'll go to a 1000m race down the straight during the carnival."
