Valley Hit-Our for Winx

Wednesday, 18th October 2017

Hugh Bowman partnered Winx (Street Cry-Vegas Showgirl, by Al Akbar) in a leisurely track gallop at Moonee valley yesterday morning ahead of her historic Cox Plate bid on Saturday week, reports Sky Racing. Trainer Chris Waller has confirmed the superstar will return to Moonee Valley for next Tuesday's 'Breakfast with the Best' track work session. "She did a really nice piece of work this morning," Bowman said. "She worked on her own and I let her build up over the last 600 metres and let her work to the line with the last 400 metres being well within herself." Bowman continued: "She couldn't be in better shape. She looks great in the coat and the race can't come quick enough." Winx will be out to create history by joining the legendary Kingston Town as the only horse to win three Cox Plates at Moonee Valley on 28 October. The two-time Australian Horse of the Year will also be chasing her 22nd consecutive win and her 15th at Gr1 level.
