NZB Ready To Run Breeze Ups Day-2
Another 194 two-year-olds galloped down the straight at Te Rapa racecourse yesterday to conclude the 2017 Breeze Ups for New Zealand Bloodstock’s Ready to Run Sale of 2YOs. The track was rated a Dead 5 with West Southwester gusting winds similar to those conditions experienced on Day 1. The fastest performers of the day, and overall, came from a pair of colts prepared by Riverrock Farm. Lot 239 by Rip Van Winkle clocked the fastest time at 9.94 seconds, while Lot 243 by Poet’s Voice recorded 9.95 seconds. Kilmore Farm were represented by two fillies with Lot 186 by Reliable Man, a full sister to Main Stage, the current Victoria Derby favourite, clocking a time of 10.82 seconds, while Lot 377 by Myboycharlie breezed in a time of 10.85 seconds. The full brother of recent Gr2 winner Formality (Lot 174), who is out of Singapore Horse of the Year Jolie’s Shinju, recorded a respectable time of 10.43 in a dead heat with the colt by He’s Remarkable (Lot 262) with both prepared by Curraghmore. NZB’s bloodstock sales manager Danny Rolston was pleased with the outcome across the two-days of Breeze Ups. “With slightly better conditions today we saw faster times but the overall quality of horses has been outstanding,” he said. “At the conclusion of the last two days I am convinced that we have assembled the best book on type to date.” NZB’s Ready to Run Sale will be held at Karaka on 22 & 23 November.
