Arrogate To Retire After Breeders' Cup

Thursday, 12th October 2017

Juddmonte has announced that champion US galloper Arrogate (Unbridled's Song-Bubbler, by Distorted Humor) will be retired to stud after attempting to defend his title in the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar on 4 November, reports Thoroughbred Daily News. "Prince Khalid is enjoying the career of Arrogate and the tremendous world of success he's had, but we're obviously an operation that has a huge breeding arm and all of us anticipated adding a magnificent stallion prospect to our roster," Juddmonte Farm manager Garrett O'Rourke said. "He's obviously huge for us, because everything we aspire to is at the very top-class and he's proven to be the greatest US runner that we have had at Juddmonte and I think that anyone has seen on an American racetrack in quite some time." Currently rated the world's best racehorse, Arrogate as hitherto won 7 of his 10 starts for career earnings of US$17,298,514 making him the richest North American thoroughbred of all time.
