Inglis Graduates Scoop Awards

Five Inglis sale graduates were named champions of the 2016-2017 Australian racing season at the Australian Racehorse of the Year awards in Brisbane on Sunday night. The brilliant season of syndicators Darby Racing was recognised as horses they race won two awards, Golden Slipper heroine She Will Reign being named Champion 2YO and dual Gr1 winner Yankee Rose winning the Champion 3YO Filly award. Following his unprecedented third Gr1 TJ Smith Stakes victory in the autumn, Chautauqua was again named Champion Sprinter. The 2012 Easter yearling has now won more than $8million for connections. Newgate Farm's Flying Artie was named champion 3YO colt or gelding, most notably for his performance in the stallion-making Gr1 Coolmore Stud Stakes last spring, while Caulfield Cup winner Jameka was named champion stayer. "On behalf of Inglis I congratulate all breeders, vendors, buyers and owners of this year's Australian Champion horses," Inglis' national bloodstock director Jonathan D'Arcy said. "These horses are great examples of what all racing enthusiasts strive for in our sport."
