At Flemington in Melbourne, Rich Hill Stud's Melbourne Cup winning stallion Shocking (Street Cry-Maria di Castiglia, by Danehill) added a black-type success when 5YO New Zealand-bred mare Pure Pride (Shocking-Mamasan, by Shinko King) powered home to claim his maiden stakes win in the $120,000 Listed Paris Lane Handicap (1400m) for 4YO+, defeating Wyndspelle & Saint Valorem. Pure Pride improved her record to 2 wins and 3 placings from 16 starts for $163,180 in earnings.
