At Flemington in Melbourne, dual Gr1-winning Irish stallion Bushranger (Danetime-Danz Danz, by Efisio) added a Group success when 5YO Irish-bred mare Now Or Later (Bushranger-Queenofthefaires, by Pivotal) posted her first win since arriving in Australia in the $200,000 Gr2 Blazer Stakes (1400m) for 4YO+ mares, defeating Merriest & Payroll. Racing in the distinctive gold and claret coloured silks of Qatar Bloodstock, Now Or Later improved her record to 3 wins (including the Gr3 Derrinstown Stud One Thousand Guineas Trial) and 4 placings (including the Gr1 Irish 1000 Guineas) from 14 starts for $366,853 in earnings. Trainer Robert Smerdon said Now Or Later would be aimed at the $500,000 Gr1 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington on 4 November. "She's got good upside so hopefully we can just progress onto the Myer, that would be the Holy Grail for her," Smerdon told racing.com. "She had really good form in Ireland. She was the winner of the Thousand Guineas Prelude over this distance and was third in the Guineas itself." He added: "She's now a Group winner in two hemispheres so that gives her a lot of value."
