Rock Of Gibraltar Relation Wins Maiden

Friday, 6th October 2017

Well-related 3YO Woulda Thought So opened his account at the second time of asking when storming home from near last on the turn in the Evergreen Turf Maiden Plate (1400m) at Ballarat yesterday. Trained by the Lindsay Park team of David & Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig, Woulda Thought So was a $170,000 purchase by Mark Pilkington at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale. By former champion Australian racehorse So You Think, Woulda Thought So is out of the Gr3-placed Danehill mare Isle Of Gibraltar, a full-sister to Gr3 Hobart Cup winner Offenbach. Isle Of Gibraltar, herself, is out of the Shirley Heights mare Push A Venture, a half-sister to the dam of 8-time Gr1 winner and successful sire Rock Of Gibraltar. Woulda Thought So is clearly held in high regard by connections as he holds an entry in the $1.5 million Gr1 Victoria Derby (2500m) at Flemington on 4 November.
