Arrogate Continues to Please Baffert
Champion US galloper Arrogate enjoyed an easy day out when breezing over four furlongs at his home track of Santa Anita on Tuesday, reports Blood Horse. The workout was just a maintenance gallop for the world's best racehorse who is being aimed at the Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic at Del Mar on 4 November. "He worked fast last week but this was just a maintenance move to keep him happy," trainer Bob Baffert said. "I wanted it slow today. The track has been really deep and slow right now. But he went around there and looked like he was just galloping. He did it with ease." Baffert believes Arrogate is back on track after shock losses in the Gr2 San Diego Handicap and Gr1 Pacific Classic at his past two outings. "He's ready," Baffert said. "If the Breeders' Cup could be next week, he's ready." The Juddmonte Farms-owned Arrogate (Unbridled's Song-Bubbler, by Distorted Humor) has hitherto won 7 of his 10 starts for career earnings of US$17,298,514 making him the richest North American thoroughbred of all time.
