Coolmore Name Everest Runner

Tuesday, 3rd October 2017

Tulip (Pierro-Musidora, by Rock of Gibraltar) will represent Coolmore in the inaugural $10 million The Everest (1200m) at Royal Randwick on 14 October. Her inclusion means the Gr1 Golden Slipper placegetter will be the third 3YO to contest the world's richest turf race on Saturday week. "David [trainer David Hayes] has been very persuasive with his view that Tulip should take her place in the field," Coolmore Australia principal Tom Magnier told racingnsw.com.au. "He is adamant that speed is her forte, evidenced by her recent work which has reportedly been nothing short of exceptional." Magnier added: "It's going to be a hugely competitive race, a great spectacle and we are delighted to be a part of it." Tulip is a $51 chance with TAB for The Everest.
