Godolphin Buys Coolmore Filly for €1.2 Million
A bay filly by Coolmore’s multiple champion European sire Galileo has set the early pace on day one of the 2017 Goff’s Orby Sale in Kildare, Ireland selling to John Gosden on behalf of Sheikh Mohammed for €1.2 million. The under-bidder was Coolmore’s very own M.V. Magnier. Consigned by Ballylinch Stud, the filly [Lot 35] is the first foal of the US-bred Gr2 winning mare L'Amour de Ma Vie (Dansili). The purchase is another sign of the thawing relations between Godolphin and Coolmore after the former purchased yearlings by Coolmore sires at last week’s Keeneland September Sale in Kentucky. The two-day sale, Ireland’s premier yearling sale, continues on Wednesday.
