At Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, Darley's deceased Gr3-winning & multiple Gr1-placed stallion Commands (Danehill-Cotehele House, by My Swanee) added a Group race success when 6YO brown gelding Washington Heights (Commands-Demanding, by Octagonal) opened his stakes account when sailing down the outside of the field for a decisive win in the $200,000 Gr2 Shannon Stakes (1500m) for 3YO+, defeating Mighty Lucky & Imposing Lass. Washington Heights, who had a brief four-race stint in Hong Kong, improved his record to 5 wins and 4 placings (including the Gr3 San Domenico Stakes & Gr3 Kindergarten Stakes) from 14 starts for $785,824 in earnings. Washington Heights was purchased by David Raphael for $300,000 at the 2013 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Widden Stud.
